Seismic Games is a Los Angeles-based games studio dedicated to creating high quality, next generation social games franchises across digital platforms. The company is led by seasoned game industry executives with experience from Pandemic Studios, Activision and Vivendi Universal.  Founders, Greg Borrud, Eric “Giz” Gewirtz, and Chris Miller, earned their stripes making console games like Star Wars Battlefront I and II, F.E.A.R., and Saboteur.

Our games are character-focused and highly customized, igniting a new wave of players looking for more sophisticated narrative and deeper engagement from their experiences online. User-generated and real-time content also plays a central role in the gameplay, as do branded and professional entertainment partnerships which connect online and offline opportunities to audiences enjoying the game.

Our Founders

GREG BORRUD – CEO & Co-Founder

Greg is the CEO and a co-Founder of Seismic Games – a games studio dedicated to developing high quality next-generation social game franchises for digital platforms. In 2011, the games veteran partnered with President, Chris Miller and CCO, Eric Gewirtz to form the company.

Prior to founding Seismic, Greg was a co-Founder and the Head of Production for Pandemic Studios. In its 11 year history, Pandemic developed some of the best selling franchises in the industry including ‘Star Wars: Battlefront,’ ‘Mercenaries,’ ‘Destroy All Humans,’ ‘Full Spectrum Warrior,’ and ‘The Saboteur’.  In 2005, Pandemic joined forces with Bioware, a leader in role playing games, and was acquired by private equity firm Elevation Partners.  The new joint venture was subsequently purchased by Electronic Arts for a record $860 million in 2007.

Greg got his start in the video game industry as a Producer working for Activision producing PC games including ‘Dark Reign’ and ‘Muppet Treasure Island’.  Greg attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and California State University, Long Beach receiving his degree in Theater with an emphasis on Producing.

ERIC “GIZ” GEWIRTZ – CCO and Co-Founder

Eric “Giz” Gewirtz is the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Seismic Games, a game company dedicated to developing high quality games for social and mobile platforms.  Before founding Seismic, Giz was at Activision as Lead Designer on Star Trek: Armada, and then at Pandemic Studios; first as Lead Designer on Star Wars: Clone Wars and then as Project Director for Star Wars: Battlefront, Star Wars: Battlefront II and Lord of the Rings: Conquest. He left Pandemic in 2008 to co-found Little Quake Games – a company focused on mobile applications and games. There he was the director for several mobile apps including the Appy Award winning Rock Prodigy. Giz graduated from UCLA Film School and is also an active screenwriter for film and television.

 

CHRIS MILLER – President and Co-Founder

Chris Miller is the President and Co-Founder of Seismic Games, a game company dedicated to developing high quality games for social and mobile platforms.  Before founding Seismic, Chris was at Vivendi Games; first as Executive Producer overseeing the launch of multiple titles for Sony PS2, PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360. In 2007 he was named Vice President of Creative and built an internal team of specialists, overseeing twenty titles in production ensuring the creative execution of the entire portfolio. Chris left Vivendi in 2008 to co-found Little Quake Games – a company focused on mobile applications and games. There he was President and director of development for several mobile apps including the 2011 Appy Award winning Rock Prodigy. Chris also co-owns Asylum recording studio which has been successfully operating in Los Angeles for over sixteen years.
